Janice M. Linehan, age 74 of Hudson, died Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the American Heritage Care Center in Hammond. Jan was born the daughter of John and Veronica (Zwolenski) Spott on August 25, 1940 in the town of Trimbelle, Pierce County, Wisconsin. She grew up in North Hudson and attended Hudson schools. On November 30, 1957, Jan was married to Robert Linehan at St. Patrick’s Church in Hudson. Jan worked as a secretary in the Twin Cities for 16 years before going to work for the City of River Falls. She spent 24 years in the city office starting in 1982 and retiring in 2005. Jan also handled all the record keeping for Linehan Construction. She was a member of St. Bridget’s Church in River Falls. Jan enjoyed crocheting, knitting, playing the organ and bowling. She liked to snowmobile and spend time with family and friends. Jan was feisty, energetic, and spunky. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Veronica Spott; and brothers, Kenneth (Renee) Spott and Donald Spott. Jan is survived by her husband, Robert Linehan; children, Debra (Dale) Affolter and Charles (Kristen) Linehan; grandchildren, Troy (Danette) Affolter, Tiffany (Jerry) Homme, Mason Linehan, Ellie Linehan; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Benjamin, Craig, Gabrielle and Olivia. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in River Falls. Visitation was also Wednesday from 10-11 am at the church. Interment was in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Hudson. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
