James “Jim” Harvey Kaemmerling, age 82, of New Richmond, Wisconsin passed away peacefully at Amery Memory Care in Amery, Wisconsin on April 1, 2026.
Jim was born on June 6, 1943 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Lester and Lucille Kaemmerling. He graduated from Pius XI High School in Milwaukee in 1961, and Spencerian Business College in 1964.
He met the love of his life, Judith Sprecher at a dance at Zivko’s ballroom in Hartford, Wisconsin in 1963. They were married in a snowstorm on January 23, 1965, at Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Together they raised three children, Jennifer, Jay and Jaime. Jim’s 40-year career in food and feed production had the family moving from Menomonee Falls, to Cumberland and finally New Richmond, Wisconsin.
Jim was a quiet, hardworking man who enjoyed spending his free time outdoors. He loved gardening, camping and was an avid sportsman. He was happiest when he was fishing at the family cottage on Pelican Lake or hunting at his cabin in Webster. He shared his love of the great outdoors with his family, taking them on camping adventures across the country, canoeing in the Boundary Waters, and participating in black powder rendezvous events.
In retirement Jim found peace living full time at the cottage on Pelican Lake with Judi, going for walks with his dog, woodcarving duck decoys, and taking trips to the Webster cabin to hunt with his son Jay.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Lucille Kaemmerling. He is survived by his wife Judith Kaemmerling, his children- Jennifer (Henry) Klitgard, Jay Kaemmerling, Jaime (Nathan) Isaac, his granddaughters -Abigail (Cyle) Navarro, Emily (Hunter) White, Allison Klitgard (Emmit), Isabel Isaac, Eliza Isaac, and Delilah Isaac, his great-grandchildren -Nolan Coshow, Charlotte Navarro, Violet Navarro and Aurora Mahoney.
