Jack Ericson 06/27/2019

Jack J. Ericson, age 78, of New Richmond died Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. He was born the son of Harold and June (Nielsen) Ericson on July 7, 1940 in Chicago, IL. Jack graduated from York High School in Elmhurst, IL. He served his country during the Vietnam War as a US Army Special Forces, Green Beret. On May 14, 1960, he married Joan Suk. Jack completed an MBA at Century College and had a long career at 3M in the Telecom Division. He was a member of the VFW and definitely loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and June; wife, Joan (Dec. 2018); and sister, Joyce Belvedere. He is survived by his sons, Jeff (Diana), Chad (Jamie); grandchildren, Sydney and Tucker; brothers, James (Sharon), Harry (Nancy); sister-in-law, Lynne (Ronald) Schmid; and many other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, July 12, 2019 at 12:30 pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (151 S Washington Ave.) in New Richmond. Visitation was held Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 3-7 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S Knowles Ave) in New Richmond and on Friday from 12:00-12:30 pm at the church. Interment was in Willow River Cemetery in Hudson. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

    I met Jack through the VFW in Richmond and we served at the same time on the finance committee . As fellow retirees from the business world we had many stimulating conversations . Jack was a great guy and will be missed .

    Chad and family…. I am sorry for your loss. I was so impressed by the obituary learning Jack was a Green Beret.
