Ina Mae Strohbeen age 92 of New Richmond, WI passed away Monday, June 26, 2023 at Westfields Hospital. She was born the daughter of Albert and Sarah Hurtgen in rural Wisconsin in Rush River Township on July 7, 1930. Ina Mae graduated from High School in 1949 and went on to work in St. Paul. In 1951, she married Ian Jahr, the union was blessed with two children Nancy in 1952 and Richard in 1954. Ian and Ina Mae moved to Echo Valley Farm outside of New Richmond in 1956. Their farm became a tree farm where they sold Christmas trees and nursery stock and landscaping. In 1986, her husband, Ian passed away. In 1988, Ina Mae married Russell Strohbeen and they have spent 30 years planting trees and gardens, and enjoyed going to dances and playing cards and going to their favorite store, the Dollar Tree. Ina Mae was a member of Prairieview Covenant Church and also enjoyed bowling and long road trips. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Ian Jahr, son, Richard Jahr; and her six siblings; Ellen, Margaret, Ervin, Edna, Richard, and Clinton. Ina Mae is survived by her husband, Russell Strohbeen; daughter, Nancy (Jeff) Bakke; granddaughter, Ingrid (Sam) Konieczny; step-daughter, Judy Strohbeen and step-son, Keith (Lynette) Strohbeen; and great-granddaughter, Mae Harriet Konieczny. A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Prairieview Covenant Church (1396 210th Ave) New Richmond. Visitation was also Thursday from 12:00-1:00 pm at the church. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery in Star Prairie. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

Nancy, I’ll miss your Mom. Going to Johannesburg for a beer or having one at Echo Valley are great memories among others. She joins Ian and Richard in heaven. I miss them all.
