Idell M. Thompson, age 80 died Sunday, July 26, 2020 at her home. She was born the daughter of George and Evelyn Weeks on May 19, 1940 New Richmond. Idell grew up in New Richmond attending New Richmond schools. She married Wayne Thompson on May 25, 1957 at Bethany Lutheran Church. Idell loved to crochet and craft. She went to the casino and played cards. Idell loved her Friday family gatherings. She was strong-willed and determined.
Idell is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; parents, George and Evelyn Weeks; brother, John (Pat) Weeks; brother-in-law, Harry Judd. She is survived by her children, Debbie (Barry) Smith, Sam (Diane), Colleen (Jeff) Bottolfson, Rod (Teri), Ryan (Tish); 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; siblings, Betty Judd and Asa (Amanda) Weeks; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. A Celebration of Idell’s Life was held Friday, July 31, 2020 from 3:00-7:00pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S. Knowles Ave) in New Richmond. Private family interment was in West Immanuel Cemetery. Arrangement are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

Idell was like my second mom growing up in Star Prairie and being besties with her daughter Colleen. We played lots of cards and I remember one night in there old house playing cards a bat came up from the basement. We all took off running waking up Wayne. So many great memories and Idell will truly be missed!!! God rest your soul and I will never forget the memories and what a wonderful person you are!!!! Love you Idell!!!!
My heart goes out to all of the family. I remember the card playing too. The parents, aunts and uncles when I was just a kid. I have good memories of my aunt Idell and she will be greatly missed.
