Howard Wicklund of Plum City Wisconsin died November 21 2012. Howard was born January 25, 1931 to Agnes (Newstrom) and Walfred Wicklund. Howard grew up on a farm near Lund Wisconsin. He attended the 16th school house in his elementary years and graduated from Maiden Rock High School. Howard worked for his dad at the Lund Feed Mill until Walfred, his dad, retired and Howard took over as owner. In 1966, Howard sold the feed mill to the Durand Co-op and returned to farming. Howard farmed for many years with the help of his wife and children. Howard was an active member of Lund Mission Covenant Church and served on both the executive and trustees boards at various times. Howard was very artistic, therefore in his free time he loved to draw, oil paint and landscape. He along with his wife loved birds and Howard made several bird houses and feeders to attract different birds to their yard. Howard was an avid Brewers, Packers, and Badgers fan. Survivors include sons, Steve (Robbie) Wicklund of Pepin and Scott Wicklund of Plymouth MN; daughters, Cindy (Barry) Hanson of Hastings, MN and Crystal (John) Hinrichs of Maiden Rock; eleven grandchildren, April, Amanda, Hannah, Colter, Denton, Justin, Isaac, Lyndsey, Kyler, Tyne, and Shayne; two great grandchildren, Cole and Madeline Klinger; brothers Buford, Dudley and Floyd Wicklund, and sister Phyllis Halling. Howard was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Wicklund, who he loved dearly, his parents Walfred and Agnes Wicklund, sister, Gladys Nichols, brothers, Willard, Clifford, and Raymond Wicklund. A Memorial service was held Friday, November 30, 2012 at 11 am at Lund Mission Covenant Church. Memorial visitation was also Friday, November 30, 2012 from 9-11 am at the church. Interment was in Marie Lund Cemetery. Arrangements were with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Maiden Rock.
