Henry Westphal 09/16/2014

Henry “Hank” Westphal, age 57 of Hudson and formerly of Kasota, MN, died on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.  He was born the son of Warren and Hazel Westphal on September 28, 1956 in St. Peter, MN.  He grew up in Kasota.  Hank worked at the Le Sueur Foundry and for Custom Mill Work in North St. Paul.  He was a foster parent who touched the lives of many young people.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, line dancing, racing, and cleaning.  He liked working with his son Kyle in his lawn care and snow removal business.  Most of all Hank loved kids, his own, his grandchildren, foster children and those of family and friends.  He was considered Dad and Papa to many.  Hank was a strong caring man.  He always wore a smile and loved unconditionally.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Hazel Westphal; an infant daughter; sister, Karen Rybus; and brother, Roger Westphal.  Hank is survived by his wife, Evett Westphal; children, Tanner Westphal, Mandy (Shaun) Westphal-Collier, Tyler Westphal, Kyle Westphal, Bradley Benes, Tyler Dillard, Kevin Rickey, Rhandy Westphal, Coty Westphal, Tylor Seidler; grandchildren, Brendan, Laurali, Paige, Mason, Talon, Lilyana; siblings, Bonnie (Earl) Rients, Jean (Don) Kuhl, Earl (Margaret) Westphal, Dawn (Lyle) Orth, David (Helen) Westphal, Tim (Jo) Westphal, Evelyn (Randy) Culbert, Doug (Deb) Westphal, Linda Westphal Wilson; god-children, Michael Mattson, Amanda Christoferson, Damia Seibenahler; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.  A Celebration of Hank’s Life was held on Friday, September 26, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church 1205 6th Street Hudson, WI and on Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 11 am – 2 pm at the First Presbyterian Church 141 S Rice Street Kasota, MN.  Private family interment will be in Green Hill Cemetery in St. Peter, MN.  Cremation services provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Hudson.
