Hazel Wersterback age 95 died on Friday, December 3, 2010 at Comforts of Home in River Falls. All her life Hazel was known as “a dancer”. She began by doing the Charleston, then learned dance after dance. She met her husband, Ernie, when they were both members of a dance club. They won a few contests and went on dancing beautifully together until they were way into their 80’s. She also played piano, grew flowers, taught elementary school, and kept a beautiful home. She lovingly cared for her pets and was a volunteer for years for the Humaine Society. She and Ernie raised a nephew, Kurt (deceased) and had one daughter Lute. Hazel is survived by her husband Ernie of River Falls and daughter, Lute (Dan, deceased) Berkey of River Falls; and grandson, Sean (Gale) Berkey of Anchorage, Alaska. She spent the last few years being cared for at Comforts of Home in River Falls. A memorial service, which included dance music, was held at her daughters home. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
