Harvey Peterson 10/23/2019

Harvey Franklin Peterson, age 94 of New Richmond, died Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Regions Hospital in Saint Paul, MN. He was born the son of John and Amanda Peterson on March 19, 1925 near Amery, WI. Harvey grew up in the Deronda area in Wisconsin attending Deronda school until 7th grade. Following school, he worked for Relander farms and later for Whirlpool, where he retired after 35 years. He married Joyce Hacke on September 5, 1950 at First Lutheran Church in New Richmond. Harvey loved bowling, horseshoes, playing baseball for the Boardman Bombers and New Richmond Millers as well as softball. He enjoyed hunting and his Canadian fishing trips. He always watched his Twins, Packers, and Badgers. Harvey volunteered for many years at the St Croix Health Center and traveled worldwide. Harvey was a kind, caring man who loved playing cards with the grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Amanda; infant daughter, Rose Marie Peterson; siblings, Olga (Art) Wilson, Pearl (Russell) Knutson, Blanche Peterson, Irma (Leo “Buzzy”) Matt, Raymond (Marlene) Peterson, Billy (Geneva) Peterson, Mae (Harlan) Peterson; and brother-in-law, Ed Nelson. Harvey is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Karen (Mike) Olson and Jerry (Diana); grandchildren, Tricia Quinn, Eric (Jessica Plourde) Sylte, Jennifer (Chad) Hanson, Reece Peterson, Logan (Danielle Ziemer) Peterson, Rod (Katie) Peterson; great-grandchildren, Brittany Peterson and Nicholas Quinn, Hunter and Madilynn Hanson, Delaney and Deslyn Peterson; siblings, Ethel Nelson; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 11:00am at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S. Knowles Ave) in New Richmond with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Boardman Cemetery. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

    Thinking of you at this most difficult time. I will miss his smile,and his enjoyment in just sitting and visiting. His family meant everything to him. He will forever be in your hearts and thoughts. Cherish those memories.
