Gregory Mountain

Gregory J. Mountain, age 72 of New Richmond, WI passed away Thursday, Nov 5, 2020 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Greg was born Aug 20, 1948 in New Richmond the son of Marlin J. and Marie A. (Jarchow) Mountain.

He attended New Richmond High School graduating in 1966. He then attended College in Eau Claire. He was employed at Vollrath Refrigeration in River Falls, WI for 25 years before becoming the owner of Mountain Milk Transfer in New Richmond and working in the maintenance department at Holy Family Hospital in New Richmond. In 1990 he began his own business, Mountain Energy Management which would later become Mountain Duct Cleaning. He ran that business for 20 years before passing the company on to his son in 2010. He was an avid Cub and Boy Scout Leader for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Carol, of New Richmond; son, Mathew (Tabatha) of Golden Valley, MN; Granddaughter, Paige; Siblings, Michael (Carla) of Waupun, WI, Wendy (Steve) Klochko of Northville, MI, Mark (Sharon) of Ashland, WI and Molly (Kurt) DeMarais of Parker, CO as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant brothers, Marlin, Jr. and Joseph.

A private Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Greg will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday Nov 13, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Richmond with Father John Anderson as Celebrant. The service will be for immediate family only but will also be live streamed on the Immaculate Conception Church Facebook page for those who would like to view.

A public, social distanced gathering of family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church in New Richmond and continue until the hour of service. Please respectfully wear a mask in order to help protect other family members who are high-risk. Interment will take place at a later date in the Church Cemetery.

The Mountain Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Ashland and Mellen, WI is assisting the family.
