Grace Goblirsch 08/23/2013

Grace Goblirsch, age 20, of River Falls, WI passed away on August 23, 2013 after losing an eight month battle with acute myelogenous leukemia.  Grace was born on October 31, 1992 in Cedar Rapids, IA.  She attended Greenwood Elementary School, Meyer Middle School, and was a 2011 graduate of River Falls High School.  She attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN for a year and a half before starting her battle with leukemia.  Grace was an avid competitive swimmer from the age of eight years.  Swimming defined Grace and she took her love of swimming to college where she competed on the ever successful Gustavus team.  She loved to teach and coach swimming.

Grace will always be remembered for her positive attitude even in the face of a devastating illness.  She was a warm and caring person who could find the best in everyone.  Grace is survived by her Parents, Greg and Sue Goblirsch; sister, Claire Goblirsch; grandparents, Greg and Maurine Goblirsch of Arlington, MN, Margaret and Darrell Hannemann of Willmar, MN: aunt, Alison and Steve Schumacher; uncles, Jim and Joye Goblirsch, Mike and Greta Hannemann; cousins, Jacob, Maura, Kathryn, Anna Schumacher, Sam, Josh Goblirsch, Riley, Drew, Rhyen Hannemann.  Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 11 am at St. Bridget Church in River Falls.  Memorial visitation was Monday, August 26, 2013 from 4-8 pm at St. Bridget Church and was Tuesday from 10-11 am also at the church.  Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Grace’s family.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
