Gloma Nichols Lemancik Hamernick, age 83 of New Richmond, Wisconsin died Thursday, October 18, 2018 at The Deerfield Gables Care Center. Gloma is survived by her children, Terri (Mike Green) Hamernick, Lee (Debbie) Hamernick, Linda (Don) Branch; grandchildren Alex (Jennifer) Hamernick, Brian Hamernick, Daniel (Nicole) Hamernick, Kelly Walstrom (partner Evan Sanders) and six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Keaton and Mae Nichols. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and for 29 years pursued a career in Human Resources at Normandale Community College.
A memorial service was held Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm at First Lutheran Church (218 County Road K) in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service. Private family interment was in Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Memorials preferred to The Deerfield Presbyterian Homes and Services or The St. Croix Hospice. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of New Richmond.

I remember this woman as a colleague at the former Concord Motel in downtown Minneapolis.
She was a wise mentor to me in my rudderless days. We visited in 1988 when I attended a conference there
