Glenn Haas 06/02/2024

Glenn Francis Haas, age 88, died Sunday, June 2, 2024 at the Amery Hospital. He was born June 14, 1935 the son of Walter and Regina (Scheuerman) Haas in Brackett, WI. Glenn attended grade school in Wilson, WI and after dropping out of 8th grade he worked for local farmers. Glenn served his country in the US Army and was honorably discharged in August of 1957. Through the years, Glenn gained experience as he worked for Whirlpool in the metal shop and then worked for Peterson Construction, with a fluke accident, he lost his vision in his right eye. With that, in 1968, he decided to take the chance and started his own excavating business, Glenn Haas Excavating, which kept him very busy until his retirement. In his free time, Glenn enjoyed gardening, especially strawberries and tomatoes. He often talked of the thumb sized black berries he would pick when he was a kid. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, shaking dice, talking, and having a cold one. He will be remembered by his family as a hard worker, a person to count on to lend a helping hand, his long phone calls and his contagious laugh. Glenn is survived by his children, Glenda (Dean) Hansen, Kim Pederstuen, Jeffrey (Barb) Haas, Brian (Donna) Haas, Melissa (Bob) Frame; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; his sister-in-law Rosemary Haas, cousins and many nieces & nephews. I remember so well his teasing jovial personality, laugh, and sense of humor. He was a bit naughty (and fun) and just the right amount of nice and kindness. He is having a “cold one” with his brothers now.
