Gilmer “Budd” Berger 03/10/2015

Gilmer A. “Budd” Berger, age 86 of Roberts, WI, and formerly of Thief River Falls, MN, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the River Falls Wisconsin Area Hospital.  Budd was born the son of Gilmer M. and Astrid (Nelson) Berger on January 23, 1929 in Greenbush, MN.  He graduated from Greenbush High School with the class of 1947.  He married Jackilyn Gullikson in 1953.  Budd served in the U.S. Army.  He worked in construction for a few years, then worked for the State of Minnesota as a Drivers License Examiner for many years.  Budd was a friendly, social guy who loved farming, fishing, hunting and spending time wtih his grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jackilyn; son Greg Berger; and daughter Pam Berger.  Budd is survived by his sons, Mitchell (Wanda) Berger, Scott (Rachel) Berger; daughters-in-law, Robbie Berger and Kathy Gelling; grandsons, Blaine Berger, Lance Berger, David Jensen, Hank Berger, Vaughn Berger; great-grandchildren, Jack, Maxwell, Joe, Quincy, Tiphanie, Hailey.  A private family gathering was held in Hudson, WI on Saturday, March 14, 2015.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Hudson.
