Gertrude Hanson, died on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Regions Hospital in Saint Paul. She was born the daughter of Louis and Sue Ewert on May 15, 1950. Gertrude grew up between Webster and Danbury, WI. She attended school in Danbury. Gertrude married James Hanson on December 14, 1974 in Pine City, MN. She loved fishing, bow hunting, some gardening, and going to garage sales. Gertrude was a loving mother who adored spending time in nature.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Sue Ewert; brother, Leonard Wind; and sister, Violet Ewert. Gertrude is survived by her husband, Jim; children, Jeffrey, Brian, Christine, and Gary; and many other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 11:00AM at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S Knowles Ave) in New Richmond with a visitation starting one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Gert was a wonderful devoted mother and a great person. She’ll be missed dearly.
Gert was a wonderful person, so caring and loving. So sorry for your family and sorry I couldn’t be there to see everyone and give out hugs. Said it earlier to Brian, she was so special to me, always treated me like one of her own. Always loved how she came to the races and hung out with Uncle Dwayne, Jeff and her were always welcome.
