Her family farmed in the Viking area and rural Martell. After graduating from Spring Valley High School, she worked at Doboy Industries making K-rations for the troops in World War 2. On June 22, 1946, she married Lambert Nelson of River Falls Township. They farmed together until Lambert’s death in 1993. Geri loved farming and especially all the little animals that she cared for. Geri also worked seasonally at Friday Canning Company for over 20 years. In fact, she worked a 77 hour/week shift when she was 77 years old! She was a member of the New Centerville Methodist Church since 1946. She was known for her homemade doughnuts that she donated each year for their annual fall festival. Geraldine was proceeded in death by her parents, Enoch and Jennie Danielson; husband, Lambert; son Larry; Step-grandchild Jamie Engel; three brothers, Thomas, Walter, and Gerald, and sister, Deloris Wang. She is survived by her sons: Steve (Ann) of Eau Claire, Ross (Nanci), of Bloomer, daughter: Gail (Cory Otterness) of Amery, and daughter-in-law: Patty Nelson of River Falls; 11 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Naoma Falde of Spring Valley, Char Danielson of River Falls, and Zenny Danielson of Milwaukee. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, a private burial service for just the immediate family will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Geri’s sunny personality and love of cats will be missed by her family and friends. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
