Gaston Bibeau 07/21/2013

Gaston “Guy” Bibeau, age 85, died Sunday, July 21, 2013 at his home in Star Prairie, Wisconsin.  Gaston was born the son of Irene and Florence (Lamontagne) Bibeau on August 7, 1927 in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. He received his formal education in Canada and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1949 and was on active duty until 1953. Gaston served in the reserves until 1962.  Gaston received his United States citizenship in 1952 and was a proud member of the American Legion.  Gaston was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Peggy, son Stephen and brother, Paul.  Gaston is survived by wife Naomi Ballard Bibeau, son Scott (Kris) Bibeau, sister, Louise Milbrandt, brothers and sisters in-law, George (Geri) Ballard, Ray (Georgiann) Ballard, Mike (Sue) Ballard; nieces and nephews that will miss “Uncle Guy”, Shirley (Duane) Fagnon, Leslie (Mark) Defrees, Bill (Amy) Bibeau, Mike (Jennifer) Ballard, Godchild, DeAnn (Pete) Halverson, George (Jennifer) Ballard; and special cousins Gaetan (Merilee) Trudel and Jean Marc (Heline) Lebel.  Gaston started working for the City of Los Angeles as an electrician and retired after 32 years of service as the Superintendent of Street Lighting, in 1986. On June 7, 1968, he was married to Naomi Ballard in North Hollywood, CA.  Gaston and Naomi moved from Newbury Park, California to Star Prairie. Gaston enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, boating and dancing when he was younger. In more recent years he has enjoyed playing cards and was an avid reader of Zane Grey and Louis L ‘Amour novels. Gaston looked forward to family gatherings, and entertaining family and friends.  A Memorial service was held on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 11 am at Bethany Lutheran Church, 415 Bridge Ave, Star Prairie, with The Reverend Amy Hessel officiating.   Visitation wA also held Friday from 10-11 am at the church.  The interment was at Lower Weston Cemetery, Weston, Wisconsin.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
