Gary Poulin 09/08/2021

Gary Paul Poulin, age 61, of Somerset died Wednesday, September 8, 2021 after a short and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  He was born on March 7, 1960, the son of Maurice and Jeannine (Doucette) Poulin in Hartford, CT.  Gary was a proud and loving father, who volunteered countless hours to his sons’ activities.  He founded Somerset Collision in 2000. Over the course of 20 years, he built a successful and reputable business where customers became friends. He was a life-long tinkerer, always working on the next project. From building a treehouse to a homemade pitching machine, Gary loved to test the homemade creations on his boys. He spent his short retirement restoring his 1968 Camero. He was a gentle and sincere leader who had a compassionate and generous spirit. He will be missed by his sons, Brian (Scout Bahr) Poulin, Joseph (Kelsey McKenna) Poulin; love of his life, Rebecca Smith; special furry friend, Abby; siblings, Mike (Terri Winn) Poulin, Maurice (Tracie) Poulin, Marybeth Poulin; former spouse, Brenda Poulin; several nieces and nephews.  Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Jeannine Poulin.  A funeral service was held Monday, September 13, 2021 at 4:00 pm at La Pointe Events (701 Spring St.) in Somerset.  Dinner and celebration followed the service with a sunset firework.  Interment was held Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Bridget Catholic Church Cemetery in River Falls.  Memorials may be directed to the St. Croix Valley Foundation, SCVF with Gary Poulin memorial in the memo line and mail it to SCVF / 516 2nd Street, Suite 214, Hudson, WI 54016.   Click here to donate online to the St. Croix Valley Foundation.     I didn’t know Gary, but I know Sonny, and I remember Mike from many years ago. Nice people, and it’s a shame to go so young.
