Frederick “Fred” Warren Volkmann, 91, from River Falls, Wisconsin, passed away on December 3, 2023, after living a long life as a loving Husband, Father and Grandpa.
Fred was born on November 5, 1932, to Bernhardt and Norma (Roa) Volkmann in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Fred grew up in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin and after graduating from Chippewa High School, Fred went on to enlist in the Navy, where he served as a SeaBee in the Naval Construction Battalion during the Korean Conflict.
In 1961, Fred married the love of his life, Jean Ann Sukowatey and built their home and hobby farm in Prescott, Wisconsin. Together they went on to have 4 children, Jon, Valerie, Stephanie and David and enjoyed taking meticulous care of their many beautiful flower and vegetable gardens as well as beekeeping and creating Leathercraft works of art.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Bernhardt and Norma Volkmann; his wife, Jean; and eldest son, Jon. He is survived by and will be greatly missed by daughters, Valerie (Steve) Bjerstedt, Stephanie (Chris) Kiecker; son, David (Donna) Volkmann; as well as his 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Fred was a special fellow, I enjoyed helping him with various needs at the hardware store. May the good memories give you comfort.
Fred was a very special man. He always had a story and a smile. We have many wonderful times visiting with him at the hardware store and church. You have our deepedt sympathies.
