Keith Boardman 10/10/2011

Keith Boardman age 91 a life-long resident of New Richmond died Monday, October 10, 2011 at Westfield’s Hospital.  He was born the son of Benjamin and Gertrude (Fleming) Boardman on May 20, 1920 in New Richmond.  On October 5, 1947, Keith married Lois Arlene Bottolfson in Star Prairie.  He farmed his family farm along with his brother all of his adult life.  Keith served on the New Richmond School Board for 7 years and also served several years on the Somerset Town Board.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, casinos and cards, especially euchre.  Keith was a life-long member of the New Richmond United Methodist Church and served as a trustee.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Gertrude; wife, Lois (1980); brother and business partner, Ben J. Boardman; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.  Keith is survived by his children, Brian (Robert Wright) Boardman, Barb (Jerry) Geving, Barry (Sue) Boardman; grandson, Chad (Tiffany) Ellyson; life partner, Ione Johnson; sisters, Alice (Bill) Olson, Mary Jo Boardman, Beda (Tom) Lewis; sisters-in-law, Elaine Boardman, Helen Howe, Charlene Bottolfson; brother-in-law, Clarence Moen; and many other relatives and friends.  A funeral service was held Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 11:00 am at the New Richmond United Methodist Church.  Visitation was Wednesday, October 12, 2011 from 3:00-7:00 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral Home Beebe Chapel in New Richmond and also Thursday from 10:00-11:00 am at the church.  Interment was in Boardman Cemetery.  Arrangements were with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
