Evelyn Winblad 08/01/2018

Evelyn Viola (nee Hatfield) Zimmermann Winblad, age 81, of River Falls died Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Comforts of Home in River Falls.  She was born April 21, 1937 the daughter of August and Bernice (Crum) Hatfield at the family homestead east of Glidden, WI.  Evelyn attended Glidden School and on February 19, 1955, she married Ervin Zimmermann.  The couple made their home in Glidden where Evelyn was a homemaker.  She was well known for her baking and cooking skills.  On January 3, 1958 their only child Patricia Ann Zimmermann was born.  Evelyn and Ervin divorced in the mid 1970’s and she moved to River Falls, WI.  She was briefly married to Harold Winblad in the 1980’s.  Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, August and Bernice Hatfield; brother, Harold Hatfield; two sisters, Ellen Hill and Irma Hatfield; brothers-in-law, Thomas Rominske and Stanley Hill.  She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Zimmerman of Glidden, WI; two grandchildren, August Peter Pankratz of Butternut, WI and Emma Bernice Pankratz of Glidden, WI; two sisters, Olive Rominske of Lake Tomahawk, WI and Jeanette (Hale) Darling of Waukeegan, IL; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Evelyn’s family would like to thank the staff at Comforts of Home and St. Croix Hospice for the care they gave to Evelyn in her final months and weeks.  A funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Bakken-Young Funeral Home (805 E Division St.) in River Falls.  Visitation was one hour prior to the service.  Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
