Evelyn Lodahl 04/01/2023

Evelyn May Lodahl, age 82, passed away with her family by her side on, Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Red Cedar Canyon Assisted Living in Hudson, Wisconsin.  On May 4, 1940, she was born in Barrett, Minnesota to Mons and Ora (Thompson) Magnuson.  After graduating high school, Evie continued her education at a nursing school in Minneapolis, earning her associate degree and passing her boards as an LPN on Sept 1, 1959.  She later married Kenneth Lodahl on June 11, 1961, in Milbank, South Dakota.  After working a few years, she decided to stay home to raise her children.  When her children were still young, she and Ken moved to River Falls, Wisconsin.  Evie had a kind, warm heart and yet had a bit of a stubborn flare.  She loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing and canoeing.  She milked cows and cultivated a large vegetable garden that she tended to each summer.  She could be found canning just about everything from her harvest but especially the tomatoes and the most delicious pickles.  Evie was an avid reader and loved golfing.  At one time, she even was a waitress at the golf course.  She enjoyed trying her luck on the slot machines at the casino with her family.   Evie is survived by her children, Lindley (Dennis) Eldridge,  Lori (Steve) Falteisek, Lisa Bowman, Kevin (Denise) Lodahl, Kandi (David) Ruvelson; 12 grandchildren, Harrison and Madelyn Falteisek, Nicholas (Jen), Jordan, and Benjamin Simons, Morgan Bowman, Emily, Riley, and Cole Lodahl, Amanda (DJ), Melissa, and Jami Ruvelson; 2 great-grandchildren, Braxton and Hayden Simons; siblings, Gary (Joann) Magnuson, David Magnuson, Veloyce (Gerald) Koehl, Marlene (Kevin) Lemke, Linda Magnuson, Barb DuHamel and many nieces, nephews, friends and family.  Evie is preceded in death by her parents, Mons and Ora Magnuson; husband Ken; brothers, Roy and Russell; sisters, RuthAnn (Harold) Mohrman, Ardis Fleischfresser; and brother-in-law, Jim DuHamel.  A visitation for Evelyn was held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 3-5pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremations Services (805 East Division Street, River Falls) with a memorial service at 5pm.  Interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Stanley, Wisconsin will take place at a later date.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
