Eugene Mulhollam 03/22/2016

Eugene Vernon “Geno” Mulhollam , age 85,of River Falls died Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born the son of Vernon “Pat” and Leila Mulhollam on December 24, 1930 in Spring Valley, WI.  Geno graduated from Spring Valley High School and served his country in the U.S. Army.  On June 9, 1951 he married Olive Esanbock.  Over the years, Geno had a variety of miscellaneous jobs.  In the 1950’s he owned and operated a chicken hatchery and owned the River Falls Bakery for 10 years alongside his son, Mike.  Geno was an active member of St. Bridget Catholic Church and the River Falls American Legion.  He served on the City Council from 1993-2002 and in 2008 was named River Falls High School Wrestling Booster Club fan of the year.  Over the years he enjoyed fishing, bowling, hunting, playing cards, and especially putting puzzles together.  Geno loved his family and grandchildren.  He attended many sporting and musical events, along with teaching his grandchildren to fish and taking his turn playing Santa Claus over the years.  He will be missed by his wife, Olive; children, Cathy (Greg) Johnson, Mary (Dave) Boles, Tom (Diane) Mulhollam, Mike (Jody) Mulhollam, Pat (Jack) Meyer, Peggy (Todd) Foley, Paula (Boyd) Johnson; grandchildren, Selena (Todd) Schaefer, Shane (Nicci) Johnson, Trent Johnson, Austin Johnson, Emily (Larry) Corson, Tami (Jon) Longsdorf, Shelly (Aaron) Clay, Chad (Paula) Mulhollam, Cory (Erin) Mulhollam, Heather (Ryan) Vasser, Travis (Cassie) Meyer, John (Nikki) Meyer, Rachel Foley, Ryan (Jessica) Foley, Taylor Johnson, Peyton Johnson, 15 great-grandchildren with three more on the way; siblings, Bill Mulhollam, Janet Strusz; along with many relatives and friends.  Geno is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Neil “Pistol” Mulhollam and half- sister, Maxine Goulet.  A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 6:00 pm at St. Bridget Catholic Church.  Visitation was also Wednesday from 3-6 pm at the church.  Private interment will be in St. Bridget Church Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Bridget Catholic Church.  Arrangements have been made with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
