Eugene Briese 06/17/2021

Eugene “Gene” Dawyne Briese, age 71 of New Richmond, died on June 17, 2021 at his home. He was born the son of Robert and Betty Briese on February 9, 1950 in New Richmond, WI. Gene served in the US Army in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1971. While serving in the Army, Gene received his GED. He married Julie Clemens on July 29, 1972 in New Richmond. Gene loved working on cars and socializing with everyone. He was always happy and had a big heart.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Betty; wife, Julie; siblings, Kathy, James, Dennis, and Crystal. He is survived by his daughters, Juliane (Robert) Redding and Randi Widstrom; grandchildren, Ryan (Samantha) Gillman, Rachel Redding, Robert Redding, Katlin Redding, Cody Widstrom, Megan Widstrom, Logan Widstrom; great-grandchildren, Cadence Gillman, Layton Gillman, and Aria Gillman, and Aspen Redding; siblings, Deb (Donald) Grover, Carol Larson, Genevieve Berg, Russy (Pat) Trimbell, Alan, Sheila, Donald, and Dave (Noreen); sister-in-law, Kathy; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A Celebration of Life was held on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, from 3-7PM at the American Legion Butler-Harmon Post 80 (1260 Wall Street) in New Richmond. Interment was in Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 3:00PM. Cremation Services provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
