Eric Peter Olson was born October 5, 1972, to Mike and Sherry Olson in New Richmond, WI. Eric died November 21, 2023, while working on his car. Eric graduated from New Richmond High school and enjoyed years of hockey and band. He spent years siding houses and other carpenter work in the New Richmond area. He was unable to work after falling off a roof, injuring both feet. He tolerated much pain for several years, was diagnosed with throat cancer this past year and struggled with alcoholism. Eric had a good sense of humor, enjoyed his friends, and spent many years camping, hunting, and fishing. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Olson; and stepfather, Gary Gjonnes. He is survived by his mother, Sherry Gjonnes; friend, Dennis Wikstrom; brother, David (Heidi) Olson; sister, Debbie Liedl; nephew, Nicholas Olson; nieces, Emily Olson and Mia Liedl. A celebration of life was held at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S Knowles Ave) in New Richmond, WI on Friday, December 1, 2023 with visitation starting at 4:00PM and service beginning at 5:00PM. Refreshments to follow the service. Eric will be buried in Maple Grove Cemetery in Frederic, WI. Eric will be missed by many. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
