Elvis Kobs 12/13/2014

Elvis Kevin Kobs, age 63 of Amery, WI and formerly of New Richmond, died on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN.  Elvis was born the son of Russell and Helen (Lukes) Kobs on January 25, 1951 in New Richmond.  He grew up in the Glenwood City area before moving to New Richmond.  In his younger years, he worked at the Bass Lake Cheese Factory and was so proud of being the youngest cheese maker in Wisconsin. He then worked for Andersen Windows before moving to Massachusetts where he lead the finance department for a car dealership.  When he returned to New Richmond, he helped start the finance department at Bernard’s Northtown. His first love were all of his children. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for any of them no matter the situation. He loved helping out at Robbie’s Auctions and was considered the auction manager. He lead the crowd with his witty jokes and unforgettable laugh. He would laugh at things even if the weren’t that funny, so he could laugh. He also loved Elvis Presley so much so that he even changed his first name to Elvis. He also enjoyed going to the casino and the San Francisco 49ers. Elvis married Donna Lund(Foxie) on July 16, 1976.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell Kobs and Helen Kobs Lukes; and his wife, Donna Kobs.  Elvis is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Brenda Beckman) Kobs, Robbie (Tareana) Kobs, Matthew (Ruth Anne) Kobs, Shantel Kobs; step-children, Shelly Tavares, Steven Johnson, Chad (Jenny) Johnson; sisters, Mary (Jerry) Mechelke, Judy (Arlan) Hanson, Marlene (Steve) Peterson, Carol (Randy) Dodge, Denise (Forrest) Maynard; first wife, Cindy (John) Peterson; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  A Celebration of Elvis’ was held Tuesday, December 16, 2014 from 4-8 pm with a memory sharing service at 7:30 pm at the Bakken-Young Beebe Chapel 112 W 3rd Street New Richmond.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
