Eloise Harsdorf 03/09/2015

Eloise Vivian Harsdorf passed away peacefully surrounded by family March 9, 2015 at the age of 87 at the Lutheran Home in River Falls, WI.

Eloise was born June 6, 1927, the daughter of Arthur and Edith (Anderson) Sodergren in Scandia, MN.  Eloise was a great homemaker and gardener, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Eloise was known for her beautiful flower gardens, both in and out of the house.  She loved painting outdoor and wildlife scenes.  She enjoyed music, playing the Hawaiian guitar in her youth and later in life playing the organ.  Eloise’s kindness and compassion reflected her love for our Lord and she shared that faith with her family.  She and her husband were active and faithful members at Ezekiel Lutheran Church and she enjoyed the fellowship of the “Sarah Circle”.

While Eloise’s passion was gardening, baking, and nurturing her flowers, she loved traveling with her husband, Ervin.  The couple visited over 13 foreign countries from Morocco to Germany and Sweden.

Eloise is survived by her four children, Roxy (Wade) Carlson of Lindstrom, MN, Susie (Steve) Josephson of Cannon Falls, MN, Jim (Lanette) Harsdorf of Beldenville, WI, and Sheila Harsdorf of River Falls, WI.  Grandchildren, Julie (David) Rahaim, Matthew (Meta) Carlson, Sean (Jumi Hayaki) Josephson, Sonja (Jeremy) Beyerlein, Scott (Valerie) Josephson, Johnathan (Bridget) Harsdorf, Kristina (Drew) Johnson, Laura (Tom) Benitz, Justin Harsdorf and Ryan (Harsdorf) Bailey; 18 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Arthur and Edith Sodergren; her husband, Ervin Harsdorf; sister, Phyllis Wurst; son-in-law, Vernon Bailey; and great-granddaughter, Claire Elizabeth Harsdorf.

A memorial service was held Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 am at Ezekiel Lutheran Church in River Falls.  Visitation was also held Saturday before the service at the church.  Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to Ezekiel Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Home or Adoray Hospice.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
