Elizabeth Hanson 10/31/2020

Elizabeth “Betty” Hanson passed away peacefully at the St. Croix Health Center in New Richmond, WI on October 31, 2020.  She was born on May 8, 1935 to Conrad and Clenora Sondreal who farmed near Hatton, ND. The family moved to Grand Forks, ND where they lived for many years.  Betty married Cameron Hanson on September 18, 1954. They had 4 children. They moved to WI, living in Dresser and Osceola.  Before Betty was married, she worked as a teacher. She enjoyed reading, singing, gardening, camping, selling Bee-line clothing, being involved with her church and caring for her children. Later in life she trained to be a Personal Care Assistant providing home care for a number of years.  She spoke fluent Norwegian and was proud of her heritage.  Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Don and Cameron; sisters, Gloria and Marjorie; husband, Cameron; and daughter, Lynelle Osterbauer.  She is survived by daughters, Debra (Terry) Christensen, Cynthia Murray; son, David (Karen) Hanson; son-in-law, Greg Osterbauer; grandchildren, John, Kelsey, Jessica, Daniel, Marjorie (Caleb), Greg, and Geoff; great-grandchild, Othniel; sister, Lorraine; and brother, Jim (Brenda).  Special thanks to the staff at St. Croix Health Center and Lakeview Hospice for all their attention and care.  A Private Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held by the family. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
