Duane left his loving family and friends under Hospice Care at home on November 10, 2011. Born and raised in Clear Lake, WI. son of Otto and Elsie (Kennetz) Klatt on May 2, 1940. He attended school and graduated from Clear Lake in 1958. Duane joined the Navy and spent 20+ years in a career as Senior Chief Electricians Mate, and 16 years in the electrical repair field. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Patricia (White); infant daughter at birth; his 8 yr old daughter, Cynthia; a brother, Douglas; three sisters, Eileen, Joanne and Barbara. Duane is survived by his devoted wife of 19 years, Pauline (Peterson) Klatt; five brothers, Richard (Olive), Kenneth (Beverly), Wendell (Janis), Marlin (Earlene), and Arnold (Laurene); two sisters, Shirley (Tom) Higgins, Sharon Kuhl (Don Miller); one brother-in-law, Tony Ploszay and one sister-in-law, Donna Klatt; three stepchildren, Robert(Diann) Peterson, Thomas (Maria) Peterson and Linda (Scott) Willett; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Duane enjoyed wood working, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Because of physical conditions, in 1993 he had to retire from work. From then on, whenever able, he spent many hours in his shop making various woodcrafts. This gave him great pleasure, as he was able to give away these gifts to his family and friends. He was a huge Green Bay Packer, Boston Red Sox and Wisconsin Badger fan. Heartfelt thanks to his loving Family, Friends, and Hospice Caretakers. Funeral service 1:00 PM Monday November 14, 2011 at CHRIST LUTHERN CHURCH in Somerset, Wisconsin. The visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service at the church. He will be laid to rest at the Clear Lake Cemetery in Clear Lake, Wisconsin
