Duane L. Fitch, age 76 of New Richmond, died Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Regions Hospital in Saint Paul, MN. He was born on August 26, 1943 in Oregon. Growing up Duane was moved around throughout his family. When he was 12, Duane was fostered to a wonderful family in Wausau, WI. After he turned 18, he joined the US Army retiring after 24 years in the service. Duane married Sandra Hartung on June 21, 2004 in Andover, MN at church. He loved running, gardening, and was faithful taking his children to their sporting events. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Duane was always happy with a smile on his face and telling a few jokes. He was always kind and faithful to his wife, Sandra. Duane and Sandra were both involved with their family genealogies.
Duane is preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Delbert; daughter, Robin; and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; children, Richard, Wendy, Amy, Jenny, Ben, John; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters; step-brother, Gary; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. A memorial service was held Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 11:00AM at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Hudson ward (545 Stageline Road) in Hudson, WI. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Monday, August 31, 2020 at 11:30, Assembly Lane 4. Cremation Services provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
