Doug H. Krumm age 84 of New Richmond died Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Westfields Hospital. He was born the son of Helmuth and Hazel (Norlander) Krumm on July 22, 1929. Doug’s family was so special to him. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. He enjoyed all sports, especially watching his children and grandchildren play. You could find him in his favorite seat at many sporting events or on his living room couch whenever the Packers were playing. His family even sent him to the super bowl in 1997 and they won! Doug went to the Lowland Country School in Stanton and to New Richmond High School. He attended First Lutheran Church all his life. Church was very important to him. Doug served in the Army in Korea from 1952-1954. When he came home he worked at Seeger Refrigeration a short while, then at Andersen Windows until retiring in August, 1989. He married Doris Peterson on June 2, 1956. Doug was a Mr. Fix-It for his children and good at keeping things running. When he visited his family in New York and Colorado there was always small jobs to do for them. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dory; children, Joan Krumm, Christy (Dan) Belisle, Rick (Nikki) Krumm all of New Richmond, Kim (Scott) Sorenson of Sunnyside, NY, Jim (Margy) Krumm of Lakewood, CO; grandchildren, Drew, Mike, Adam, Juneal, Kaitlynn, Carly, Gemma, Lindsey, Griffin; siblings, Virgil (Esther) Krumm, Reta Kjeseth, Marlene Granger, Sharon (Frank) Reckin, Bev Krumm, Gail (Steve) Krey; in-laws, Jean Krumm, Doris Peterson, Betty (Skeets) Wiles, Norman Heldt; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Doug is preceded in death by his daughter, Kay Krumm; parents, Helmuth and Hazel Krumm; sister, Margie Berget; brother, Neal Krumm; in-laws, Obby Berget, Darrell Granger, Phil Kjeseth, Ethyl Heldt and George Peterson. A funeral service was held Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 11:00 am at First Lutheran Church, New Richmond. Visitation was held Friday, December 20, 2013 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Bakken-Young Beebe Chapel in New Richmond and also Saturday from 10-11 am at the church. Interment was in the New Richmond Cemetery with military honors provided by American Legion Post #80 of New Richmond. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
