Dorothy Hilda Johnson age 85 of Red Wing, formerly of Maiden Rock died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at her home. She was born the daughter of Edwin and Mabel (Peterson) Olson on March 5, 1928 in Maiden Rock. Dorothy graduated from Maiden Rock High School and on November 19, 1947, she married Glenn Raymond Johnson at the South Rush River Parsonage. Dorothy was a long time member of Sabylund Lutheran Church and enjoyed volunteering at the Christian Learning Center in Plum City and St. John’s Lutheran School in Red Wing. She is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; brothers, James, Maynard, Leonard, Howard and Harold Olson; and sister-in-law, Gladys Olson. Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (Chris) Craft, Janice (Harry) Klein, Beth (Byron) Anderson; foster son, Leon (Virginia) Thompson; grandchildren, Dustin (Pam) Steien, Janette Klein, Jamie (Chris) Bylander, Jeremiah (Beth) Klein, Mitchell Glover, Marie Anderson, Grant Anderson; foster grandchildren, Tracy, Christina and Tosha Thompson; great-grandchildren, Flora and Glenn Steien, Jasmine, Caleb and Elizabeth Bylander, Levi Burch and foster great grandchildren; siblings, Floyd Olson, Clinton (Dorthea) Olson, Margaret (Glen) Dankers, May (Stan) Ramberg; sister-in-laws, Carol Olson, Wanda Olson, Jean Jones; many other relatives and friends. A funeral service was held Friday, June 28, 2013 at 11:00 am at Sabylund Lutheran Church in rural Stockholm. Visitation was also Friday from 10-11 am at church. Interment was in the Sabylund Lutheran Church Cemetery. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Maiden Rock.
