Dorothy Herink 04/11/2014

Dorothy Herink, age 85 of Hammond, died Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Deerfield Gables Care Center.  She was born September 30, 1928 in Schuyler, NE the daughter of Martin and Anna Jedlicka.  On November 23, 1948, Dorothy married John Herink.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and loved spending time with her family.  She enjoyed sewing, canning, gardening, along with cooking, baking and cake decorating.  She belonged to the Nimble Fingers quilting group and Nike Neighbors homemaker’s club.  Dorothy was active at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in various activities.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Anna Jedlicka; husband, John J Herink; and son, Jeffrey Herink.  Dorothy will be missed by her children, John (Elaine) Herink of Hudson, WI, Ken (Pamela) Herink of Roberts, WI, Joan Benimon of Minneapolis, MN, Susan Herink of River Falls, WI, Linda (Mark) Fallin of Oakdale, MN, Bonnie (Jeffrey) Reed of Hampton, MN, Connie Shaffer of Hudson, WI, Marjorie (Michael) Madsen of Readfield, WI, and Calvin Herink of White Bear Lake, MN; 20 Grandchildren; 19 Great-Grandchildren; and sister, Marcella (Jack) D Jenny of Lander, Wyoming.  Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 1 pm at Immaculate Conception Church in New Richmond.  Visitation was Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 4-8 pm at the Bakken-Young Beebe Chapel in New Richmond and on Wednesday from 12-1 pm at the church.  Interment was in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
