Donavon Arneson 05/22/2014

Donavon Arneson, age 80 of New Richmond, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at his home.  Donavon was born the son of Elmer and Elnora (Swanson) Arneson on April 16, 1934 in Alden Township, Polk County, Wisconsin.  He grew up there, and attended Amery High School, graduating with the class of 1952.  He married Janice Dahlberg on November 3, 1956 in Scandia, MN.  Donavon farmed his entire career in Wagon Landing, retiring in 1998.  He also worked for Vital Plastics in Baldwin for the past 15 years.  In 2002, Donavon and Janice moved into New Richmond.  He enjoyed going dancing, visiting with friends, and spending time with his family.  He was kind and easy going.  He had a special way of encouraging and supporting his family and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Elnora Arneson; and brother-in-law, Joseph LaMirande.  Donavon is survived by his wife, Janice Arneson; children, Sheryl (Bill) Peterson, Pam Hagen, Brent (Mona) Arneson, Jeff (Kim) Arneson, Craig (Amy) Arneson; grandchildren, Ryan (Dani) Peterson, Kara (Kevin) Lunsmann, Michele Peterson, Melissa (Brian) Lando, Michael Hagen, Monica (Colt) Melot, Brandon (Jamie) Arneson, Brian Arneson, Kristy Arneson, Collin Arneson, Carter Arneson; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Angela LaMirande; and many more relatives and friends.  A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 11 am at West Immanuel Lutheran Church 447 180th Street Osceola, WI.  Visitation was held on Monday, May 26, 2014 from 5-8 pm at the West Immanuel Servant Hall and on Tuesday from 10-11 am at the church.  Interment was in West Immanuel Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
