Dianne Rohl 01/19/2024

Dianne Kay Rohl (Pollatz) passed away on January 19, 2024 at home, following a short but difficult battle with cancer.

Words can’t express the loss that our family is feeling. Dianne was a loving wife, mom, and grandma that always put her family first. “Bullet” was smart, funny, and kind. While our whole family will miss her terribly, we are grateful to have had her love for as long as we did.

Dianne was born January 7, 1946 in Rice Lake, WI. She graduated from Rice Lake High School before attending UW-River Falls. She received her bachelor’s degree in English from UWRF. Dianne was a long-time employee at WITC New Richmond before retiring and working at the Department of Corrections. She retired for good in 2012 to take care of her grandkids.

Dianne is survived by her husband, Herb Rohl; her children Kathryn (Jones) and Elizabeth (Moe); son-in laws Scott Jones and Zack Moe; grandchildren Tyler, Collin, Payton and Emma; and a whole army of extended family.

Dianne was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Elbert (Janisin) and father Frank Pollatz.

Always hating to be the center of attention, Dianne vowed to haunt us all if we had a funeral. Instead, we had a celebration of her life on Saturday, February 24th from 3-6 p.m. at Johnnie’s. Join us to share stories and raise a glass to a wonderful woman!

Dianne was a wonderful woman, who with Herb, raised two terrific daughters! The world is a better place because she lived.

Dianne was the one who picked me up from the pavement when my dogs pulled me down. Always the sweet and caring person who wanted to know if I was okay before she left the scene. Very sweet lady. I will miss her.

Bullet was an amazing lady whom I met at UWRF in 1967 and loved her influence in my life ever since! The stories with Diane are endless, fun, adventurous, and very special. We also worked together at WITC where we continued to enjoy our friendship. She and Hub raised two dynamite daughters and I know Diane loved Hub, her daughters and her grandkids with her whole heart! She will be greatly missed. Denny and I truly loved and enjoyed Diane, Hub and her family! ❤️❤️❤️🥰

I loved Dianne. She was the kindest and nicest person I met when I returned to live in RF. Always concerned about me and even better, so fun to hang out with. I will miss her but I know she left on her own terms! Such a strong human. All of us will miss her, but her incredible family will miss her the most!

I had the pleasure of meeting Diane last summer while visiting my hometown. I found her to be a wonderful person – caring, unassuming, generous and lots of fun! My life is richer for meeting her. I can tell from reading comments that her’s was a life well lived and she will be greatly missed. My condolences to Herb and the rest of her family.

I am so sorry to hear of Diane passing! Having been away from the homeland for over 30 years, I wasn’t in touch with her. And while it doesn’t matter how or when we met I adored her and Hub. I regret never having the chance to meet their beautiful daughters but they know just how blessed they were!
Bullet, rest my friend! You had a huge impact on all who were lucky enough to know you. You will be missed ❤️

    Hub,
My heart goes out to you at the loss of your dear wife Diane. Although I never met her, from reading the condolence messages I can tell she was a very special woman loved by many. May God comfort you and bring you peace as you mourn her loss. As I will be unable to raise a glass in person to celebrate her life, I will do so from SC. Hugs to you!

The RLHS Class of 1963 sends sincere condolences to her family and friends. Diane was a very quiet person, and I don’t believe she ever attended a class reunion…and she was definitely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Diane and I attended school together and met up later at WITC-N.R. where we shared a number of visits. So sorry for your loss.
