Diane Rose Vezina, age 69 of River Falls, WI, died on Friday, October 2, 2015 at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Diane was born the daughter of Arvid and Sophia (Pojanowski) Lindgren on February 13, 1946 in St. Paul, MN. She grew up in Marine on St. Croix and graduated from Stillwater High School with the class of 1964. On July 3, 1965, Diane married Donald Vezina at St. Michael’s Church in Stillwater. Diane co-owned and operated Horseman’s Apparel in River Falls, WI. She later managed Drovers Western Store in South St. Paul, MN. Most recently, she managed the Box Office at UWRF. Diane was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and River Falls Community Theater, serving on both of their boards. Don and Diane enjoyed raising and showing horses for many years, with many notable champions, but Diane’s even greater passion turned out to be training stock dogs. She even raised sheep and ducks to aid in their training! She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren and going out for dinner with Don, family and friends. Diane was a loving, compassionate woman with a big heart. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arvid and Sophia Lindgren; and brother, Arvid “Butch” Lindgren. Diane is survived by her husband, Donald Vezina; daughters, Stacy (Christopher Houston) Vezina and Tory (Brandon) Vezina-Latterell; grandchildren, William and Vivian Houston; siblings, Eugene (Colleen) Lindgren, Marianne (Keith) Kollar, Julie Lindgren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation was Thursday October 8th, from 3:30 – 5 pm with a memory sharing service at 5 pm at the Bakken-Young Funeral Home 805 E Division Street River Falls. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
