What a shock and loss. Talked with him after he came home from the hospital last week and were going to get together Christmas. We worked together at RFPD and stayed in touch through the past 40 years. Dennis was a sensitive, caring, sweet person who deeply loved his family and a talented, committed public servant. God speed Kruze. Miss you partner.

I met Dennis after he started working for the St. Croix Falls PD and Polk County Sheriff’s Department. A real good guy he was and a lot of fun to be around. Very sad to hear of his passing. He will be missed.

Today’s weather prevents us from traveling today. Please know we are with you all in spirit. We’d like to share this in memory of our good friend, Dennis:

“To Speak of Things That Matter” by Patty Dease (shared with permission)

To speak of things that matter,
    Someday we’ll all be fee,
We’ll find the strength to carry on,
To love and let things be.

    To speak of things important,
Just how precious life can be,
Tell family that you love them,
    Before eternity.

Let’s take the time each moment,
And take the time each day,
    To say the words unspoken,
    Spread love along the way.

To speak of things that matter,
    Someday we’ll all be fee,
To journey to the other side,
    And find eternity.

With love, Tim Markgraf and Mary Paulson

I worked with Dennis at Willow River State Park in the mid 70’s and again at River Falls Police Department for 30 years. I have a lot of great stories and cases we worked on together. He will be missed. He was a hard working investigator dedicated to the community of River Falls.

Officer kreuziger was a great guy who helped young dumb freshman at UWRF who was going to fast on a motorcycle late one night. His compassion and understanding was greatly appreciated then and I have always remembered him, sorry for your loss……

I had been trying to reach out to Denny and didn’t know if his passing! My mom Marcia and him were together for many years. After their break up we continued to stay in touch. We had dinner not towards the end of November of 2018. He was so kind and gentle. I will greatly miss his smile and giant hugs. Mostly his words of wisdom! RIP Denny! See you again some day! ❤️
