David Michael Solo (Dave), age 73, passed away on August 16th, 2026. Outnumbered and loving it, Dave spent his life surrounded by strong women—his four sisters, his wife and his two daughters. In addition, he had such a wonderful group of friends, new and old.
He spent his entire career in banking, but his real passion was making people laugh. A master of terrible puns, Dave loved nothing more than crisp Colorado air, the Rocky Mountains, and cheering on his beloved Denver Broncos.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, daughters, Jen (Kelly) and Allie (Mike), and grandchildren, Jameson, Ruby, Lewis, Ross and Eva; as well as his sisters, Mary Beth (Michael), Pam, Kathy, and Barb.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 17th, from 3–6 PM at Ready Randy’s, 1490 131st Street, New Richmond, WI 54017. This is meant to be a true celebration of life, so please come dressed for a party, not a funeral. Some suggestions of attire themes: Denver Broncos, orange/blue, Coors beer, Colorado, or puny graphic tees.

I was walking in the jungle and saw a lizard on his hind legs telling jokes.
I turned to a local tribesman and said “That lizards really funny.”
The tribesman replied, “That’s not a lizard. He’s a stand up chameleon.”
My grandpa was loved by everybody around him. He not only affected strangers near him but also all of his family and friends. I will miss him much.
Dave was one of my best friends. We met when I started working at Littleton National Bank in 1972 and we became fast friends. He was so smart and witty. He taught me alot about life. We had so many great times together and with our group of friends. From softball to parties, drinking, and eating. Sunday dinners with my parents. I will miss him and treasure his friendship always. I know I have another angel looking out for me. Rest in peace my friend. My deepest condolences to Marilyn, Jenn, Allie and family.
