David Raymond 11/01/2020

David Paul Raymond, age 66, of New Richmond accidentally passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020 in Arizona.  Dave graduated from Hudson Senior High in 1973, following graduation he enlisted and served his country in the US Air Force.  Dave was a mechanic for over 40 years working at Sunnyside Marina and on the St. Croix River.  Recently, he worked for the River Falls School District and in retirement he volunteered at the Tonto National Forest in Arizona.  He is remembered by his family as kind-hearted and always willing to help anyone.  Dave was known to act silly just to try to put a smile on someone’s face.  He loved life, his family and the time spent with them teaching them what he knew about mechanics.  All of his nieces and nephews, think they are his “favorite”.   Dave was very proud of his 28 years of sobriety and his family.  Dave was an avid packer fan.  He is survived by his mother, Jean Raymond, of Hudson; siblings, Dwayne (Peggy) Raymond of New Richmond, Cheryl (Charles) Anderson of New Richmond, Marilyn (Terry) Tuma of Osceola, LuAnn “Louie” Raymond of Osceola, Vicki Green of New Richmond; nieces and nephews, Jason (Jessica) Raymond, Angela (Dan) Reid, Trisha (Jeff) Verschoot, Tracee (Peter) Senti, Jonathan (Mary) Neumann, Salina (Jason) Caroon, Jacob (Sierra) Erdman, Sonia (Eric) Bogenhagen, Kody Green; several great-nieces and great-nephews as well as other cherished family and friends.  Dave was preceded in death by his father, Paul David Raymond, brother-in-law, Jim Neumann; special uncle, Kenneth Holst.  A public visitation was held on Saturday, November 14, 2020 from 1-5 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S Knowles Ave.) in New Richmond.  All guests are asked to follow CDC guidelines, wear a mask and practice physical distancing.  An immediate family funeral followed the visitation beginning at 6 pm and concluding with military honors. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

I worked and played with David at theTonto National Forest. His joyfulness and happy go lucky personality will be missed greatly by me and our volunteer team. My condolences to his friends and family.

I was Dave’s neighbor as a teenager. When I had trouble fixing my truck he was always happy to teach me what I needed to know. What a great guy. Sorry to the family for your loss. RIP Dave.
