David Ohrt 07/15/2015

David Ohrt age 82 life-long resident of Hudson died Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.  He was born the son of Martin and Edna (Meyer) Ohrt on April 1, 1933 in Hudson.  He served his country in U.S. Army from 1954-1956 and the National Guard until 1957. On December 27, 1958, he married Kathryn Hendrickson.  He graduated from River Falls State College with B.A. degree in math and minors in physics and German.  David worked 30+ years for Control Data Corporation and drove school bus for Hudson School District for another 20+ years.  He was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church and active in the Church Choir.  He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathryn “Kaye”; sister and brother-in-law, Katie and Don Gilbertson; and brother, Vern Ohrt.  He is survived by his son, Greg; grandsons, Dave, Mike and Erik; great-granddaughter, Kylie; sisters-in-law, Shirley Ohrt, Ann Tout, Mary Hendrickson; and nieces, nephews and their families.  A celebration of David’s life was held at 2:00 pm Monday, July 20, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1205 6th St., in Hudson.  Visitation was also Monday from 1-2 pm at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Hudson.

    Howie and I loved Dave on American pickers. We are shocked to find out he passed away. He was fun to watch. Watching reruns we didn’t even realize. So sorry. Sincerely Jaime and Howie
