David Allan Neale was born on May 15, 1955 in the small city of Elbow Lake, MN. He passed away peacefully, with his wife by his side, on the eve of his 69th birthday on May 14, 2024 after a long journey with Alzheimer’s; facing his disease with faith, hope and often humor.
When he was 8 years old David moved with his family to New Richmond, WI and never strayed far again! He graduated from NR High School in 1973 and attended college at the University of WI Eau Claire, where he earned a degree in Psychology. Although people would often tell him he “didn’t use his degree” with his life-time career in community banking, he disagreed. David always maintained his job as a lender was a PEOPLE job, not a money one. He took great care and pride in helping his customers succeed and build their businesses, and considered them not just his customers, but valued friends.
David loved spending time with family and friends golfing, fishing, hunting, Packer watching and shooting the breeze. In his younger years he played both baseball and softball and was an accomplished trombonist. He continued his love of music as an adult by taking up karaoke for a time, surprising both himself and others with a beautiful voice!
David lived his too-brief life with integrity, a caring nature and a dry wit. He wll be missed by his loving wife, Susan, stepson, Jens (Anna), stepdaughter, Britta (Theo), brother, Bob (Bev), sister, Nan (Larry) and grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends. David was predeceased by parents, William and Margaret, and brother, Jack.
A memorial service for David was held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 11:00AM at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S Knowles Ave) in New Richmond, Wisconsin with a visitation starting at 10:00AM. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

Sue I am so sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. He was always fun to talk with. Prayers for you and your family
Dave was fun to golf with often, and was about the best loan officer I ever worked with when at First National Community Bank.
Very sorry for your loss. Alzheimer’s disease is not easy to deal with. May your memories of Dave keep you always close even though Dave has gone to heaven to be in GODS HOUSE now. Sending my heartfelt prayers to you all. Sincerest Prayers, Mark VonBank-Park Rapids, Mn.
Got to know Dave through both the bank & karaoke! Was so fun to hear him sing and hang out with him! He was a really good guy!
Susan: so sorry for your loss. I just now learned of it when going through some of my unknown sender text messages. Heather had sent something out shortly after Dave’s death, but I didn’t get it because it came from a phone number that wasn’t in my database. Please let me know if there’s anything I can do for you and so sorry that Margaret and I missed the funeral.
So sorry for your loss. Dave was the nicest guy ever. He had the sweetest smile. I knew him from the
Somerset bank and was so sad when he transferred to Hudson. May he rest in peace. Love and prayers
to the family.
