Daryl Lee Garness, aged 56, passed away on January 7, 2025, in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Born on January 9, 1968, Daryl was known for his generous spirit, always ready to lend a hand—whether fixing things, tending to his garden, or sharing his love of fishing and the outdoors. He had a quick wit and a sense of humor that kept everyone on their toes. Daryl attended St. Croix Central High School and furthered his education at Chippewa Valley Technical College earning degrees in auto body repair and welding. Daryl was a devoted follower of God who grew up attending Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Baldwin, where he remained a dedicated member for much of his life. Daryl had a deep passion for music, which enriched his life and the lives of those around him with the beauty of melodies and nature. He spent countless hours in the shop, working on motorcycles alongside his mentor and friend, Al Hauser. Daryl also loved attending action movies and car shows with his friend Larry Murphy, especially enjoying the classic cars on display. He is survived by his mother, Donna Gould; stepfather, Mike Gould; sister, Catherine (Christopher) Hunt; stepbrothers, Jerry (Chris) Gould and John Gould; nieces, Cassandra and Courtney Hunt, Jessica and Jasmine Gould; as well as nephews, Camden Hunt, Nick and Noah Gould. He is survived by many beloved cousins, aunts, and uncles. Daryl was preceded in death by his father, Gene Garness, and his grandparents. A Celebration of Daryl’s Life was held on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at 2 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services 728 S Knowles Avenue New Richmond, WI. Visitation was on Sunday from 1-2 pm. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Caledonia, MN at a later date. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

I’m so sorry to hear of Daryl’s passing. His obituary is exactly as I know him. He always made me laugh when when I saw him. Billy will miss him too. Comforting prayers for all who love Daryl.
