Daniel Joseph Huppert, age 77, of River Falls, Wisconsin, passed away August 1st, 2020. Dan was born May 1st, 1943 to Steve and Carmen (Campbell) Huppert. Dan loved farming. He took over the Huppert Family Farm in 1970. He built a machine shop on the property and enjoyed welding. If anyone in the community needed something fixed, Dan would be there with his welding tools in a heartbeat. Dan enjoyed a wide variety of activities. He loved inventing new ideas to help make farm life easier; he even had two of his ideas published in Successful Farming. He enjoyed running the family farm with his son, Danny. Dan enjoyed spending time with his siblings on Tuesday at Bendilly’s. He took his granddaughters to Dairy Queen and loved their frequent visits to the farm. He was a frequent attendee of his granddaughters’ sporting events. Dan and his wife Fran loved dancing and roller skating and enjoyed occasional trips to Casinos, especially Treasure Island. Dan married Frances Anne Thayer on August 7th, 1965 at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in River Falls. They were married for 54 years. Dan’s first love was his family and would do anything for his 2 kids and 2 granddaughters.
Dan is survived by his darling wife, Frances (Thayer) Huppert; son, Daniel Huppert Jr., daughter, Laurie (Jon) Lubahn; granddaughters, Nicole (Zach) Shelley, Toni (Richard) Lubahn; siblings, Arlene Snoeyenbos, Tootie (George Thoen) Wilbur, Pat Huppert, Ron (Darlene) Huppert, Tom (Joanne) Huppert, Rose (Chuck) Conroy, Tony (Trudy) Huppert, Donna Huppert; sister-in-laws, Marlyce Huppert, Janet Huppert, Mary Huppert and Darlene Rosenstiel; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his Parents, Steve and Carmen Huppert; brothers, Allan Huppert, Norman Huppert, Andy Huppert; sister, Patricia Huppert; brother-in-laws, John Snoeyenbos, Bob Rosenstiel, and sister-in-law Pam Huppert. His faithful companion, Bo (the dog). A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Big River Catholic Church (W10137 570th Avenue) in River Falls, WI. A Visitation was held Friday, August 7, 2020 from 3:00-6:00p.m. at the church and also one hour prior to the start of Mass. Interment was in Saint Mary’s Big River Cemetery. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

    Laurie, Very sorry to read about the passing of your Dad. I remember meeting him once while I visited your farm during college. Take care of yourself during this sad time and enjoy the many wonderful memories I am sure you Jon and the girls have of him.
