Damian K. “Dame” Blietz, age 17, of New Richmond died from a tragic drowning accident on Tuesday, June 15, 2021. Damian played many sports in his youth including soccer, baseball, basketball, track and mostly football. He loved spending time with his family and hanging out at the cabin during hunting season. Damian enjoyed skateboarding, playing bass guitar and gaming. He had a passion for food and cooking and hoped to own a restaurant one day. He is remembered by family and friends as a free spirit who could make anyone laugh, with his quick wit and he could just light up a room. Damian is survived by his parents, Ryan and Melissa Blietz, siblings, Kirah, Ashton and Cecilia; as well as his grandparents, Jerry (Susan) Stordahl, Ken (Jennifer) Blietz, Sherri Ross, Katie Radcliffe and Ted Maedke; aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and many friends. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 11:00 am St. Luke’s Lutheran Church (365 W River Drive) in New Richmond. Visitation was held Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 4-8 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S Knowles Ave.) in New Richmond and on Wednesday from 10-11 am at the church. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

I am so sorry for your loss. Cherish the memories you guys have made! “Sometimes, the person you need to talk to most, is in heaven” the grieving process is long but I believe each and everyone of you will get through this!!
