Dale Purdy 01/09/2020

Dale R Purdy, 66, of River Falls, WI, died on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from a rare form of cancer, Neuroendocrine Tumors (NETS). Dale was born in St. Louis, MO to George E. and Lois G. (Hahn) Purdy. He graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN with a BS in Chemistry and an AM in Math.
After graduation, he began his career as a research chemist for the Petrolite Corporation, but his passion for math soon led him into the computer revolution.  He was a systems analyst and programmer for over 30 years, working in the supercomputer industry for Cray Research, Silicon Graphics Inc, and Hewlett Packard Enterprises.
Dale was predeceased by his parents, George and Lois Purdy. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Purdy; his children, David Purdy, Heather Purdy, and Rachel Tyre; his son-in-law, Jason Tyre; and his grandchildren Ava and Levi Tyre. He is also survived by his four sisters, Sharon (Sam) Gilliam, Linda (Randy) Humphrey, Cindy (Mike) Kuester and Phyllis (John) Hudson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
