Cynthia McLagan 07/26/2017

Cynthia Rae McLagan died at age 80 on July 26th, 2017.
Cynthia was born February 22nd, 1937 to Rubert and Irene Petersen in Albert Lea Minnesota.  She graduated from Albert Lea High School and got her degree in English at Hamline University in 1959.  She had three daughters; Carrie Lynn Jacobson, Pierre, SD, Susan Rae Medhaug, Roseville MN, and Jill Marie Medhaug, Madrid Spain.  Cynthia also had three step children; Jill Muir Fails,(Pat)  Owatanna MN, Jack Ramsey McLagan,(Tracey) Fargo ND and Ian Hay McLagan, River Falls WI.  Cyn and husband John had thirteen loving grandchildren.   Cynthia had a successful career in HR for the State of Minnesota having worked for the Departments of Transportation, Corrections and Administration.  After retiring she was an active volunteer at Treasures of the Heart in RF. She was also very involved in PEO both in River Falls and Port Isabel TX, both very important to her.  Cynthia loved to spend her winters in their Port Isabel home in Texas where she had so many dear friends.  She was an avid reader, singer, quilter and friend to many.  She will be missed by all who knew her.  We celebrated Cynthia’s life on Saturday the 29th of July at United Church of Christ (110 North 3rd Street) River Falls WI.  Visitation at 10 am with Celebration of Life Service 11 am.  The Service was followed by a light meal.  Cremation services provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
