Corey Michael Hawkins, beloved father of Gavin and Marin, husband of Korinn, and son of Mike and Sally Hawkins, peacefully passed away on Friday, April 10, 2020 at Regions Hospital at the age of 46 due to non-covid respiratory issues and cardiac arrest. Corey was a man who was known and endeared to many. The type of man that if you knew him a little bit you wanted more. He was so much fun, and had so many moments of laughter and light-heartedness throughout his entire life. An intelligent, witty, and kind man with a genuine heart and deep integrity to be admired. He grew up in River Falls, lived in Eau Claire, and lastly resided in Roberts Wisconsin with his wife of 16 years and their beautiful children. His career life began in software and technology and then transitioned into the automotive world where Corey proudly owned River Valley Ford and loved the community he served. He ended his career continuing in Finance and Insurance management at River States Truck and Trailer in Roberts, WI where he too was valued for his hard work and dedication. Corey loved his family and friends, he loved the Green Bay Packers, and the Badgers, he loved sports talk and good times. Always one to make you smile or give you honest and sound advice. He will be dearly missed. Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 3 pm at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church 211 East Division Street River Falls, WI. A Gathering will follow the service on Saturday at the Fletcher Pechacek American Legion 701 N Main Street River Falls, WI. Visitation was held on Friday, August 7, 2020 from 5-8 pm at St. Bridget’s Catholic church and on Saturday from 1-3 pm. Private interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Hammond, WI. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Corey’s family. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

I remember an early Christmas when I played Santa Claus for Corey. The look on his face that night foretold the bright eyes that would smile and laugh with all of us. Mother earth is missing a gem today.
