Clifford Ellevold 10/11/2021

Clifford A. Ellevold, age 91, of Cylon, died Monday, October 11, 2021 at Willow Ridge HealthCare in Amery.  He was born December 8, 1929 in the Town of Forest, to Albin “Slim” and Myrtle (Hanson) Ellevold.  Clifford grew up in the Emerald and Forest area.  He attended Forest Methodist Church where his grandfather, Rev. Nils Hanson, was the preacher. He farmed the family farm and also drove truck for his uncle, Helmer Ellevold, at Forest Feed Mill.  On September 10, 1952, he married Donna May Hornbostel. The family farm was sold and Cliff and Donna moved to the Star Prairie area. He farmed for just a short time and then began working for the St. Croix County Highway Department. This was the beginning of his heavy equipment operator career. The couple bought a home in Cylon in 1959 and there they raised one daughter and four sons. Cliff left the highway department and then worked for Gleason Brothers Construction for many years. He retired for a short time, and then worked part-time for Ron Gerhardt Construction until full retirement. Driving around the area with him, he would remember building the road we were on. Cliff and Donna enjoyed mowing lawn, gardening, snowmobiling, fishing, riding ATV trails, and most of all traveling around the USA and Canada in their RV.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna; infant daughter, Brenda; two sisters, Dorothy and Jeannette, one brother, Richard; granddaughter, Laura and grandson, Joseph.  He is survived by his daughter, Renee (Barry) Iverson; sons, Randy Ellevold (Calvin Zhin, partner), Bryan (Barb) Ellevold, Scott (Betsy) Ellevold, and Tracey (Michelle) Ellevold; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and more friends than he could count. A funeral service was held on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 12:00 noon at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S Knowles Ave.) in New Richmond. The service was livestreamed via the link found at the bottom of the page.  Visitation was also Friday from 11:00am‑12:00 noon at Bakken-Young.  Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Deer Park, WI.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
