Clair Hugh Wilcoxson age 77 of River Falls died Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Kinnic Health and Rehab in River Falls. He was born April 6, 1938 to Milo and Beth (Lewis) Wilcoxson in Eagle Grove, Iowa. At the age of 2 they moved up to Hudson, WI, where his brother Neil still farms, on the family farm. Clair attended Hudson Public Schools until the age of 16. He worked for Bill Clapp for a couple of years hauling lime and fertilizer until the summer of 1956 when he began his dairy farming career of 45 years at the Glover Road farm where he and Donna raised 5 children. The family farm is still being run by Clair’s son Duane. Clair didn’t have many hobbies, but he enjoyed fraternizing at the Moose Lodge, dancing, playing cards, and his coffee clan at McDonalds. He also spent many hours doing “windshield crop tours” wearing out his white Ford Ranger. Clair is survived by his wife of 57 years Donna, his children, Duane (Julie) Wilcoxson, Dennis (Vicki) Wilcoxson, Cathy (Wayne) Warnke and his twin daughters Christie (Al) Hanson, and Connie (Al) Pechacek, 14 Grandchildren, and 6 Great Grandchildren. Also survived by his brothers/sister Neil (Mary Ross) Wilcoxson, Vera (Charlie) Grant, Paul (Arlyss) Wilcoxson and brother-in-law Dennis Nelson, and sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Wilma Smith, Judy (Marvin) Nielsen, Bill Owens, Joy (John) Reis, Rita (Dale) Griffey, Ross (Nanci) Nelson, Aunt Ethel Guion, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Clair was preceded in death by his parents, sister Faye Nelson, sister-in-law Mary Jo Wilcoxson, and sister-in-law Merry Nelson. A celebration of Clair’s life was held Saturday, September 19th at the Al & Christie Hanson Farm, 301 County Road U, River Falls at 12 noon, with visitation from 10 am-12 noon prior to the service at the farm. Casual dress was Clair’s request. Interment will be at the German Settlement Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
