Christen J. Dyg, Jr., age 88, of New Richmond, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Chris was born on February 13, 1938, to Christen and Mildred (Stauffacher) Dyg, in River Falls, Wisconsin. Chris had a great love for the outdoors, fishing, hunting and four wheeling. Chris was a proud Army veteran who served during the Cuban Crisis.
Chris will be dearly missed by his wife of 64 years, Diane M. Dyg; children, Laurie (George) Debner, Sheri Cherrier (Walter Wheeler) and Jodi Oldenburg (Don Zeiler); grandchildren, Tyler, Cassie, Tabitha, Maddy, Colton and Taylor; great grandchildren, Paisley and Michael.
He is preceded in death by, his parents, Christen and Mildred; sisters, Darlene and Claudine; brother, Otto Dyg; granddaughter, Tiffany; and great grandson, Skyler.
Chris left behind a lifetime of wonderful memories, a legacy of hard work and love and devotion to his family and friends.
To honor Chris’s wishes, no services will be held.

Junior was a close friend of our family for many, many years, now that he has followed my brothers (Kay and Tom ) home, they can be reunited. I send my deepest sympathy to all the family and friends. Rest in peace my friend ! 💕

Loved your testimony of Chris’s life of service to the ones he loved. He was and always will be a great friend. Do you remember me? You worked for me as Fill Control Tech in the Canning Room at Fridays in the 1970’s. Many fond memories of my first job out of school.

I will always cherish Chris’s friendship. We had so many great memories of the grouse and deer hunts, trout fishing in the Willow and talks about life. Will miss him dearly. Chris was a self-educated man who shared his knowledge of the woods, ideas and his philosophy of life. Most of all he was a kind and generous man; a true friend. Prayers for Diane and family.
